VANCOUVER, British Columbia, October 13, 2026 – Miller Thomson today announced the strategic acquisition of Mogan Daniels Slager (MDS), a leading Canadian private company
M&A and Private Equity-focused boutique law firm based in Vancouver. The entire MDS team will join the Firm in early November.
MDS advises entrepreneurs, private equity funds, family offices and growth-oriented companies in Western Canada and on Canada/US cross-border transactions. The Chambers-ranked firm is recognized for its mid-market mergers and acquisitions and private equity work, particularly on complex deals, debt and growth equity financings and private equity fund formation. MDS was recognized by both Canadian Lawyer Magazine and The Globe and Mail as one of Canada’s leading corporate law boutiques.
The acquisition advances Miller Thomson’s strategy to expand its business law platform and strengthen its presence in Western Canada. It adds MDS’ 11 lawyers and a significant number of deals to the Firm’s national practice. Upon closing, Miller Thomson’s Corporate, M&A and Securities group will include approximately 130 lawyers across five provinces.

MDS clients will gain access to Miller Thomson’s national capabilities in banking and finance, tax, real estate, competition and other business law areas. Miller Thomson clients will benefit from MDS’ established M&A and private equity practice and its knowledge of the Western Canadian market.
